Audi J2534 Reprogramming

The software version above is the MIB2 version not RMC. Updates are unknown as to what features/fixes are included in a version, as Audi don't release that detail, and as you have said the RMC is updated only via SD not online. Older versions (pre-facelift) are also dealer/SD card update only. Dealers will only work from the erwin/odis system supplied by Audi AG, and if there are no instruction from the factory to update the software they will keep the car on that version, as the dealership charge Audi AG for warranty work and unless there is TSB/recall or fault (where they will just swap the hardware/software for the same version.

Audi allows the re-flashing of emissions related modules. Immobilizer adaption's my need to be performed when an ECU/TCM is replaced. Audi allows this adaptation capability with J2534. Specific instructions on this are found here: Audi immobilizer and J2534

You must be a registered with the NASTF (National Auto Service Task Force) vehicle security professional registry (LSID) and a current Registered VW / Audi workshop to obtain keys and key adaptations. Please visit the NASTF Registry to complete the registration process.

Model year 2004 and later can re-flashed. Reflash TSB's for earlier model years may be purchased, but the re-flash will not work.
